Mini Bus Safety

27 Mar

School Mini Bus MOT Sheffield

According to the National Safety Council around 25 million students begin and end their day with a trip on a school bus, whether that be a mini bus or a double decker. School buses are said to be safer than walking or travelling via the family vehicle, but the safety of school buses always needs to be ensured with the amount of students using them each day.

School Bus Repair

An ITV News investigation suggested that one in five school buses had defects last year, with that number increasing from the previous year. Problems were occuring to five vehicles a week on average, some of them serious too which doesn't bring much relief to parents and students themselves when boarding the bus. Astonishingly some mini buses were carrying pupils without an MOT, although the industry states they carry out in-depth checks on the vehicles regularly you still expect a Mini Bus MOT to be carried out. 121 defects found on school buses were considered serious, these defects included; worn brake pads, tyre damage and uninsured vehicles. All barring the latter can be fixed at DSA Autocentre in Sheffield.
